The Panspermia Theory

It is the idea that life on Earth may have originated from extra-terrestrial sources such as comets, asteroids, or other celestial bodies. The term "panspermia" comes from the Greek words' "pan" meaning all and "spermia" meaning seed.

It suggests that microscopic life forms may have travelled on debris from space and survived the journey before eventually landing on Earth. Once here, these organisms may have found a suitable environment and evolved into the diverse array of life forms we see today.

There are several versions of the Panspermia Theory like- Directed Panspermia, which proposes that intelligent beings intentionally seeded other planets with life. Lithopanspermia, which suggests that life was transported between planets within rocks ejected by impact events.

While there is no direct evidence to support the Panspermia Theory,it is considered a viable hypothesis by many scientists. In recent years, researchers have discovered that microorganisms are capable of surviving the extreme conditions of space, adding some support to the theory
