TACHYONS

Tachyons are hypothetical particles that are predicted by certain theories in physics. They are thought to be particles that always travel faster than the speed of light, and thus are not subject to the constraints of special relativity.

The concept of tachyons was proposed as a way of reconciling the theory of special relativity with the possibility of particles that could travel faster than the speed of light. Tachyons are thought to have imaginary mass, meaning that their mass is not a real number.

One of the most interesting consequences of tachyons is that they could potentially be used to communicate information faster than the speed of light, which violates one of the basic tenets of special relativity. Though tachyons are purely hypothetical at this point.

Despite this, tachyons have been the subject of much speculation and debate in physics and science fiction. Some theories suggest that they could be produced in high-energy particle collisions, while others propose that they could be the key to unlocking new technologies.
