SPACE AGENCIES
There are several space agencies around the world that are involved in space exploration, scientific research, and the development of space technology. Here are some of the most prominent space agencies and their accomplishments:
- NASA It is the space agency of the US. Some of its achievements are the Apollo moon landings and the development of the Space Shuttle program. Currently, it’s focus is on deep space exploration and to return humans to the moon as part of the Artemis program by 2024.
- ESA It is a European intergovernmental organisation that coordinates space exploration and scientific research efforts. Some of its accomplishments include the Rosetta mission, which landed a spacecraft on a comet, and the Galileo satellite navigation system.
- Roscosmos It is the space agency of Russia. It’s achievements in space includes, the launch of the first artificial satellite (Sputnik) and the first human in space (Yuri Gagarin). Currently,it is working on a mission to Venus and developing a new space station.
- CNSA It is responsible for China's space exploration and scientific research efforts, and has achieved several significant milestones in recent years, including landing a spacecraft on the far side of the moon and launching its own space station.
- ISRO It is the space agency of India and is involved in space exploration and scientific research. Some of its major accomplishments include launching a record-breaking 104 satellites in a single mission and launching a spacecraft to Mars in its first attempt.
There are also several other space agencies around the world, including the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), and the space agencies of several other countries.
